Zahuris or Zahories

Stories of the Zahuris were often relayed by French travellers in Spain. It's said that they were able to see streams of water and veins of metal concealed in the earth. They were able to find buried treasure and the bodies of those who had been killed. There were natural explanations given for their abilities, but most Spaniards believed them to hold supernatural powers. They believed them to have contact with demons and the ability to read minds. It was also said that only those born of Good Friday could become Zahuri.
